Chile is one such country in Latin America (LatAM) that has consistently positioned itself as a key artificial intelligence (AI) hub over the past three years. Its focus on digital transformation across key sectors such as finance and enterprise has propelled it into the ranks of the top outsourcing destinations.

The Latin American Artificial Intelligence Index, which measures AI progress across 19 LatAm countries, ranks Chile as a top ‘AI Pioneer’ with a score of 70.5 out of 100, edging out Brazil (67.3) and Uruguay (62.3) to second and third, respectively. The South American country is also an investor favourite, with the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking placing Chile in 43rd place among 70 countries globally.

The country’s services sector generates more than $3 billion in exports annually. With AI rewriting the outsourcing playbook, Chile wants to increase its share in the outsourcing market via a different positioning.

The country wants to scale AI adoption across all productive sectors, prioritizing specialized talent that can compete on expertise in niche areas for higher-value AI and knowledge-services work rather than headcount-based models.
